Light Up the Night 5K to benefit Richard Young patients

Release Date: July 27, 2017

KEARNEY - Registration is now open for the Light Up the Night 5K walk/run on Friday, September 8 at Yanney Park in Kearney. This event to raise mental health awareness is sponsored by CHI Health Richard Young Behavioral Health.

Runners and walkers are welcome and those pre-registered before September 1 will be guaranteed a glow necklace, glow bracelets and T-shirt. The event emphasizes community and family fun, so a timer will be provided at the finish, but times won’t be tracked. The first three 5K finishers will receive recognition and a special gift.

Participant check-in and race day registration begins at 7 p.m. with the race starting at 8 p.m. at the Yanney Park south parking lot. Only participants pre-registered by September 1 receive glow items and a T-shirt. Pre-register online at: www.eventbrite.com, search “Light Up the Night Glow Walk/Run” or click here. Entry fee for all participants is $20.

Proceeds from Light Up the Night 5K benefit the Richard Young fund at the CHI Health Good Samaritan Foundation and are used to provide transportation, clothing and medications to mental health patients in crisis. For questions or further information, please call 308-865-2234.
